Jo MATASSONI
Co-Owner & Manager | Beechworth
Meet Jo, our multitasking dynamo! Married to Marty, she co-owns, manages Beechworth, and leads operations. Jo is the calm and capable force behind our team, offering guidance, support, and a fresh perspective. With her princess-like charm and machine-like work ethic, she's a powerhouse. And yes, she loves hitting the gym, as her vibrant energy reflects!
TOM O’TOOLE
FOUNDER
Tom doesn’t really need an introduction but we’re going to anyway. As our patriarch, Tom is still the main face of Beechworth Bakery, and represents us perfectly as a group – lots of fun, very enthusiastic, and a little bit cheeky! Tom loves a great Latte, but doesn’t like to see an empty tray in the cabinets when he visits the bakeries. He is also in love with his brand new car but will always retain a soft spot for the old bakery cars.
Christine O’TOOLE
Co-owner | Director
Christine is our bakery family’s matriarch and epitomises the old saying: behind every great man is an even greater woman (or something like that). She has an open passion for the bakery, and a secret one for Jamie from Outlander. She hates wasting food, and is a fantastic cook. Though a bit of a worry wart, Christine is great at thinking outside the box and always comes up with fantastic ideas. She’s also the one we can thank for our iconic Snickerdoodle!
Beck BACHELOR
General Manager
Beck is a great listener who is always very positive, approachable and nice, and has excellent interpersonal skills. She is helpful and smart (most of the time ☺), and a great role model with a healthy dose of self-belief. We can all attest to the fact that she loves travel, listen to podcasts, and will never miss an opportunity for a dance off. Also keep an eye out for her because she also loves to trek the mountains like a mountain goat. She is great at her job overseeing the daily operation of the company, keeping the ships together and sailing in the right direction, whilst providing fantastic support for Marty and the managers.
Laura GLINSKI
CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE MANAGER
One of the most bubbly, welcoming and happy people you’re ever likely to meet, Laura is a good listener who only has good things to say about people, and is always smiling. She is kind and caring, and likes to stay positive no matter what life throws at her. We love that she sometimes dances and sings at work in order to lighten the mood – much to the delight (embarrassment?) of those around her. Her enthusiastic and bubbly personality appears to be contagious because everyone is always having a fun time too when she’s around! She’s into swimming, writing, music and learning new languages, and hates negativity!
MICHAEL ‘Chappy’ CHAPMAN
Operations Manager (Production)
Everyone agrees that Chappy is super nice, yet has a deceptive poker face. He is a great tradesman who knows his stuff (he was GO TAFE’s Apprentice of the year in his day), and has very high standards when it comes to product quality. He is a joy to be around and nothing is too much trouble. We suspect he would even beat Job (of Bible fame) in terms of patience because despite their best efforts, none of our managers have been able to make this man angry (yet). He loves a good prank and riding his motorbike (except when he crashes).
DANIELLE FRY
HEAD OF MARKETING
Meet Danielle, Beechworth Bakery's newest addition leading our marketing, digital presence, and brand voice. With over 20 years of experience in the FMCG, hospitality, and tourism industries, she uses her storytelling skills to establish a connection with our customers. Danielle's passion for developing innovative strategies and creating new products is something to look out for. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her Hungarian Vizsla, cooking, drinking coffee, and exploring the outdoors.

Dorothy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from the hospitality and tourism industry to her work at the bakery. When she's not there, she cherishes moments with her husband and little girls. Beyond her busy schedule, Dorothy is also pursuing a law degree.
Anthea WEBSTER
Admin | Beechworth & HO
If this was the US of A, Anthea would have undoubtedly been crowned Prom Queen at her high school. But since this is Australia, she just started working for us as a gorgeous 18-year-old behind the counter. Anthea has a deep commitment and loyalty to our company, and worked her way up through the ranks to become an exceptional bakery manager in our Albury bakery. Now a proud mum of two equally gorgeous girls, she has moved into the role of office payroll support for the group.

Laura started working for BB in Echuca when she was 20. In 2021 she came to Beechworth to help out for a week… and fell in love. With the region, that is. Within a month she was living in Wodonga and working in Beechworth. A year later finds her promoted to Front of House Manager and living in Beechworth. And loving it. We always know where in the building Laura is because of either her energetic singing that can often be heard throughout the building, or the banter & laughing that’s coming from the customers in the shop. Her joy and love of life is infectious, so beware, or you might catch it!
Sheree Mooney
bakehouse manager | beechworth
Sheree started her career at Beechworth Bakery when she was just 17 years old working as a junior team member behind the counter. She soon realised though that she preferred to be more hands-on and looking at what she makes, so she moved into the bakehouse as a decorator (she’s very fussy about quality product!). After 5 years she left to learn the baking craft in her uncle & aunt’s bakery, but got home sick and came back as soon as she had her qualification. Having successfully juggled motherhood & being a supervisor, Sheree is now our production manager in Beechworth.
Hayley Newman
bakery Manager | Echuca
Before joining our team, Hayley travelled around Australia working pubs, and has now settled in Echuca with her husband & 3 children for a better family life (although choosing the country over the sea was a pretty big decision!). Hayley needs to keep busy, and doesn’t do ‘sit’ very well. She loves being around people and the hospitality industry, and likes to think: “I am everyone’s best friend (haha)”. Apart from running the bakery, she’s into running full stop. And her kids. Pet peeves..? Can’t stand mess!

Kyla is an absolute gun in the bakehouse, friendly, dedicated, hard working…the new and improved Chappy, really. She loves the great work life balance her career gives her, as well as the people and the atmosphere. She’s not only completed her baking apprenticeship and then some (cert 3 in retail baking and pastry combined, cert 4 in training & assessment, cert 4 in retail management) but was also apprentice of the year at GOTAFE! She loves early starts as it allows her to spend more time with her babies at home… her two sausage dogs.

Lauren's journey with Beechworth Bakery began nearly 7 years ago, starting as a team member and rising to the role of Albury store manager. A true local, born and raised in Albury, she knows the community inside out.
Lauren's passion for customer service is at the core of everything she does, infusing her work with enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence that shines through every interaction.
Kylie BRAY
Bakery Manager | Healesville
A great role model, Kylie is a wonderful leader who runs a smooth ship and smashes goals. Determined to succeed in everything she does, her Healesville team is exemplary and a credit to her. She is the ‘Mum’ of our team, always thinking of everyone else. She loves her family, a good bundy, camping, and would love to do ‘the big lap’ before she’s too old. She is also super excited to be building her dream home.
Janet Martin
Bakery manager | yackandandah
During her 20+ years with the bakery, Janet has fulfilled many interesting roles. Having started back in 2002 as a part-time team member in the Beechworth store, Janet progressed through to supervisor, Retail manager, and then became key support to the (then) General Manager. It’s probably a lot easier (and shorter) to list which role Janet hasn’t filled within the bakery. She is now in beautiful Yackandandah, running the lovely little bakery close to her home.

Glenn, an avid nature photographer originally from Echuca, has wholeheartedly embraced the Alpine lifestyle. You'll find him hiking, paddleboarding, or shredding the slopes on his snowboard when he's not capturing stunning landscapes through his lens. Beyond his outdoor pursuits, Glenn is an SES volunteer who is deeply committed to serving his community. Glenn is determined to succeed in everything he does, embodying a spirit of excellence and dedication.
Sankulp sood
Bakery Manager | Ballarat
Sankulp has been in the hospitality industry for 24 years working in 5 star hotels such as the Marriott and Pullman, and Laurant Bakery as their head pastry chef. He has only been in Ballarat a short while but is super excited to be sharing his skills at Beechworth Bakery. He also loves cooking at home, for his kids, and their favourite treat is buttercake. Welcome to the bakery family!
